        Short version: Syrax does not collect, store, or share your personal data.
        Your location is used only on-device to find nearby bus stops and is never sent to our servers.
    

1. Who We Are

Syrax is a Singapore public bus companion app that provides live bus arrival times, journey tracking, and route information. The app is developed and maintained as an independent project.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Syrax does not collect, transmit, or store:

Your name, email address, or any account information (no sign-in required)
Your precise or approximate GPS location on our servers
Your search history or journey history
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Any usage analytics or crash reports sent to us

3. Location Data

Syrax requests access to your device's location solely to identify bus stops near you. This is processed entirely on your device. Your coordinates are never uploaded to our servers or shared with any third party by us.

You can deny location permission at any time in your device settings. The app will continue to work; you will just need to search for stops manually.

4. Notifications

If you set a bus arrival reminder, Syrax schedules a local notification on your device. No data is sent to external servers to deliver these notifications — they are handled entirely by your device's operating system.

5. Third-Party Services

Syrax integrates the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

Google Maps SDK — used to display the map and bus stop locations. Google may collect data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
Land Transport Authority (LTA) DataMall API — used to fetch live bus arrival data. No personal data is sent to LTA by Syrax.

6. Data Stored on Your Device

Syrax stores the following data locally on your device only:

Your favourite or recently viewed bus stops (if applicable)
Whether you have completed the in-app tutorial
Active reminder settings for bus arrivals

This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

7. Children's Privacy

Syrax is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
